Anyone who lives in Bangsar would know about this excellent Pan Mee in Chun Heong coffee shop. It’s one of the best things you can still enjoy at a cheap price in this posh neighborhood.

For someone who doesn’t fancy Pan Mee, I have to concede that this is seriously delicious. I don’t have much to say about their homemade noodle, as I can’t discern any difference in texture between theirs and others.
So what makes it really special is the soup, which you can tell they put a lot of heart into it. It’s incredibly tasty with a deep depth of flavor, not just salty or sweet. A standard bowl with all the works is RM6.

The dry version of Pan Mee was only introduced not long ago to cater to those who prefer this style. I had a go at their Chili Pan Mee which did not disappoint either.
The chili paste is predominantly aromatic rather than spicy, so it’s not as punishingly hot as what you’d expect. Only one thing was missing from the noodle – poached egg.
Lastly, it seems like you’d need a bit of luck to be able to enjoy the Pan Mee here. Even when I checked with the stall owner on his off-days, he was not able to provide me with a concrete answer. But as long as you come during breakfast and lunch hour your chances are pretty good.
