Whenever I stumble upon a food stall that serves fresh and good food at reasonable prices, I make it a personal mission of mine to help promote their business.
I have always believed that it’s in everyone’s best interest that F&B operators could sustain their businesses, in fact the longer the better.
Golden Sweet Home is one of the largest coffee shops in Bandar Menjalara which spans across three shop lots. It is popular with the nearby office workers so they are busiest during breakfast and lunch hours. At night, only a couple of stalls are open and Sam’s Yong Tu Fu is our favorite.

What I like most about Sam’s yong tau fu is that the items are prepared fresh. It’s definitely not one of those places where they prefry the yong tau fu and then refry to order.
You pick the ingredients you want, put them on a plate and they will be stuffed with meat paste for frying or boiling. And if you hung around to watch, you’d know that they are not stingy with the meat paste. They put in more than a tablespoon of it, which makes each piece appear plump and full.

Lobak, Taiwanese sausage and meat balls are also available. The usual stuff cost RM1.20/pc while the rest range between RM2 and RM2.50 each.

Among all the items, we like Sam’s brinjal, ‘you tiao’, chili, lobak and Taiwanese sausage the most. They are always our picks when we have dinner here.

So far, we have never been disappointed by Sam’s yong tau fu but if there’s anything they could improve on, it might be the soup which tastes kind of light. Not necessarily a bad thing though, at least it’s not loaded with MSG.
